Wild Things

November 30th, 2009

Sorry for not posting for a while, I haven’t taken many pictures and we have been busy with family activities (which I don’t have pictures from).  I still don’t have any new pictures, but I realized I hadn’t posted any pictures from our trip to the Wild Things Park in Salinas back in October.  It is a little animal park, mostly with animals used in movies, used for drawing cartoons, and donated or rescued pets.  (Pets such as lions, tigers, and alligators!)  They take you on a tour and you get to be very close to all the animals, so it is a different experience than the zoo.  We all loved it, and were pleasantly surprised.  (I mean, come on, something cool in Salinas?!)  Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Elijah and Nick looking at Jacob the Lion:

A beautiful Tiger that we got to watch from only 5 feet away!

Elijah was captivated:

We did the extra part of feeding the Elephants:

Although I ended up doing it all because Elijah would only get within a foot of the trunk:

Lest you think otherwise, Elena was there too, enjoying the whole thing from her stroller (She gets bothered if she is too close to the animals, but from a safe distance loves it!):

A cool shot of Elijah, on the plains of Africa (ignore the fence)…

Nick might not like that I posted it, because he was in the middle of editing it. :) But, I like it how it is right now, and wanted to post it. So if he comes up with a different one that he likes better I will just post that one too!

Looks cool! I know my kids would love it! Maybe Allen and I can take them there until my dream of going back to Kenya comes true! :)
