Italian Dinner

December 16th, 2009

On Friday Nick decided to make me a proper Italian Dinner, a real, full on, many course, Italian Dinner.  It was lovely and amazing, and I just have to share with you all the amazing things he cooked for me.  Please pardon the food pictures, I still have not figured out how to take good ones.  Just trust me that the food tasted and looked way better than any picture I could take!

Appetizers:

1) Insalata Tricolore

2) Fontina Cheese Pizzas (which, by the way, now I want no other cheese bread in life ever except for these. SO good!)

Pasta Course:

1) Gemelli with 4 Cheeses

2) Taglierini with Sauteed Scallops and Roasted Garlic (Does this pasta look especially delicious? It’s because my husband MADE it, from scratch! It was incredible!)

Main Course:

Cornish Game Hens stuffed with Ricotta and Pesto

Dessert Course:

1) Espresso Tiramisu (Yes, really, he made it!)

2) Mascarpone Vanilla Gelato with Pine Nuts (Also homemade, and so deliciously rich and creamy and perfect)

It was all so very amazing, and so relaxing to have such a wonderful meal made for me! By the end I could hardly eat anymore. Nick had planned more food, but I begged him not to make it all because I didn’t want to explode. I love that not only does he like to cook, but that he does it so well! I am getting quite spoiled.

Ummm, why did I never know that he was a master chef??? This is amazing! Literally, my jaw dropped. I’m salivating over the tiramisu, and the gelato, oh and the past, and the game hen…..etc, etc.

Thanks Ladies for all your kind comments, Nick appreciated them all. :) And Emily, I didn’t know he was a master chef either! He didn’t know! This is a new hobby of his, and turns out he is really really good at it.
